Introduction

Mr. Jackson, the owner of the local Travel Agency--Back in Time Travel--asked your teacher for your help to advertise his new agency. The agency is unique in that it brings people to places during other time periods!  He heard that you are learning about the 13 original colonies and are becoming experts about the life in those colonies.  He needs your help to create the travel brochures that he will give to people to entice them to take these time travel trips.

The Task

You will work in teams to find out about the 13 original colonies by researching in order to write the travel brochure. Each team will select a specific region to study and each of you will get a specific colony to experience! Have fun, but don't get lost in time.  Before you start, let's review the location of each of the colonies by looking at and answering questions on this MAP.

The Process

In order to write about a colony, we need to understand why people came to the new world.  This video will try to answer that question.
Watch the video:  "Why were the 13 colonies started and why did people come?"

The 13 colonies were separated into three distinct regions—the New England colonies, the Middle Colonies, and the Southern Colonies. Your team should select one of the videos to watch.

New England
Middle Colonies
Southern Colonies

After viewing the video, your team must decide which colony within the region, you would like to create the brochure about.   To  create a brochure.please research about that colony by:
The final product will be to create the travel brochure. You may use this TEMPLATE or create one of your own.
